zation of its army, according to the prescribed conditions, and to communicate fully with the British authorities left at Lahore, as to the progress of such reorganization, and as to the location of the troops.

Article 4. If the Lahore Government fails in the performance of the conditions of the foregoing article, the British Government shall be at liberty to withdraw the force from Lahore, at any time before the expiration of the period specified in Article
1.

Article 5. The British Government agrees to respect the bona fide rights of those Jagirdars within the territories ceded bv Articles 3 and 4 of the treatv of Lahore, dated 9th instant, who were attached to the families of the late Maharaja Ranjit Singh, Kliarak Singh, and Sher Singh; and the British Government will maintain those Jagirdars in their bona fide possessions, during their lives.

Article 6. The Lahore Government shall receive the assistance of the British local authorities in recovering the arrears of revenue justly due to the
Lahore Government from their Kardars and managers in the territories ceded by the provisions of Articles 3 and 4 of the treaty of Lahore, to the close of the Kharif harvest of the current year,
