In all the previous incidents related in this chapter when the consciousness that I call “T” has been away from that which I designate “Me,” the latter has remained, apparently perfectly normal and capable of no psychic action except clair-audience. That is to say, when “I” is away “ Me” (or a part of “ Me”) could hear what “1” was saying ; therefore, as no one else in the room could hear the mes- sage, that part of “Me” which heard the message must have been a psychic part (which I will designate B). So in this, and all other similar cases, “ Me” is composed of a physical body and brain, which I will designate A, and a psychic body, B. But in this last case “ B” was not only clair-audient but was also clair- voyant. So, in a nutshell, the difference (which, in my opinion, is a great one) between this experience and all the previous ones is that “B” could “see” as well as “hear.” This looks as if “B” would develop into another “J.” Ifthe reader admits this possibility, as I do, then there appears to be no limit to the number of bodies in which a man might
