All the letters and “documents” which follow concern the “J,” or mental body, there- fore the reader can now dismiss the astral body from his or her mind so far as this book is concerned.
Letter No. 65 vouches for the visibility of “T” ata séance at which “I” had functioned (z.e. had used a table to spell out “I's” name, etc.) Letter No. 67 is a strange and rare case of “T's” ability Zo smed/. It is printed in order to show that the senses of ‘‘I” equal those of the physical body in number, although, perhaps, they are not always able to operate simul- taneously. Thus “I” can at times see and smell, but not hear nor touch; at other times “1” can talk, and move a table, but not *‘ see” very clearly.
This is, I believe, largely a question of practice; but many sitters object toa “ control ” who is still in the body, ‘It ain't spirits!” The sitters and mediums mentioned in this book are larger-minded people, and kindly permitted “I” to experiment.
