DEAR Mr, TURVEY, I was much impressed by the demonstration of "Phone Clairvoyance you gave me yesterday. You certainly gave a good description of my private office, which you have never entered in your physical body. You stated you saw me then “sitting in front of a flat brown thing, which might be a sheet of brown paper—it was large and flat.” At the moment I was seated at my writing- table, a dark brown wood three feet six inches by two feet three inches. You then proceeded to say on my right you saw what might be a picture frame, but you could see no picture, size about three feet square. As a matter of fact, on my right there is an old-fashioned window two feet nine inches square. Then you asked, “ What is that black thing at the back of your table, about two feet long and an inch thick? I don’t think it is a ruler, but it might be from its size.” Now this is most remarkable. My writing-table did not fit closely to the wall, and at times pens fell behind it. I therefore put an “odd man” on the premises to fill in the cavity, which caused me some inconvenience.
