Roof Sheathing and Coverings ROOF SHEATHING Installing Roof Sheathing Sheathing-grade plywood or OSB or lumber planks are applied over roof trusses, joists or rafters to provide a nailing base for the roof covering and lateral bracing of the roof framing.
