The next two extracts are interesting because they bring in an “intelligence” other than my own. At least, I think so. The story, briefly, is as follows: A gentleman attended a séance many miles away from Bournemouth, and through the table (or by other “ occult” means) he was instructed to ‘go to Bournemouth for information.” When he arrived here, he wrote to Light, and they told him to write to me, as I was then an official of the local Society. I replied, saying that I should be pleased to see him, and asked him if he were “five feet ten inches in height, wearing a grey jacket and waistcoat and odd trousers,” I need hardly
