lucid dreaming is a natural and essential part of the path towards realising out of body experiences (OBEs). On the other hand, an out of body experience is an experience where you perceive and feel yourself separate and detach from your physical body, entering into an objective non-physical dimension. This dimension can often be parallel to your physical location. This notoriously happens when your physical body is sleeping peacefully in bed. One way to get an idea of how an OBE may feel is by looking around your surroundings where you are right now. Try to imagine for a moment that where you are right now, physically reading this book, is actually in another dimension and that your physical body is fast asleep somewhere else - really look around and consider how 'real' your seemingly physical environment feels; now try to amplify this feeling of 'realness' by one hundred times. This is a glimpse of what astral projection feels like; it feels just like being in physical waking life, and it can often feel more real and closer to reality than the physical dimension. In fact, it is commonly known amongst experienced practitioners that it can feel so blisteringly tangible that when you wake up, it can give the sensation that physical life is actually more like a dream in comparison. That is how influential OBEs can be on our sense of perception. OBEs takes place not in a dream of your own creation but in an actual location within a non-physical dimension, it is not affected by your subconscious mind like a dream, and you can't control the environment in the same way. It is an actual place where you can explore any part of Earth or the cosmos with your own direct senses. You can have conversations with other people, and you can even travel into the past or future.
